About Feather River Land Trust Conservation

About

The Feather River Land Trust has conserved more than 36,000 acres in the Feather River Watershed, which is the largest watershed in the Sierra Nevada and provides water to over twenty million Californians. It includes all of Plumas county and portions of Sierra, Lassen and Butte counties. One area where the Land Trust has done extensive conservation work: At 120,000 acres, the Sierra Valley rivals Lake Tahoe in size and is considered one of California’s natural wonders. Here form the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Feather River, one of the most important water resources in the state of California, and the Valley’s wetlands support the greatest concentration and diversity of waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and other birds in the northern Sierra Nevada.
