What is a ReStore?
A Habitat ReStore is a furniture, lighting and building materials recycling/resale facility that supports the services of its local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. The Newburgh ReStore recycles new, gently used and antique items donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donations are sold to the public at very low prices or used in the construction of Habitat houses. All proceeds from sales go directly towards Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh’s house construction program.

ReStores also:
· The ReStore provides Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh with a sustainable source of income and a sustainable future.
· The ReStore resells building materials salvaged from its own rehabilitation projects, many of which are antique architectural items.
· The ReStore recycles items donors no longer need, keeping those materials out of our landfills.
· The ReStore provides a way for donors to receive a tax-deduction for their donations.
· The ReStore provides numerous volunteer opportunities to the public.
· The ReStore provides items for sale to the general public at drastically reduced prices, making it possible for many low-income families to buy items they need to better their own living conditions.
