Scotstoun Woodcraft Folk
개요
The Woodcraft Folk is an international educational movement for children and young people designed to develop self-confidence, co-operation and awareness of the environment. Scotstoun Woodies (Woodcraft Folk) are based at West Glasgow's Scotstoun Primary School. But their members come from other schools as well.
They currently have over 80 members (plus grown ups) ranging in age from 6 to 13 and are Scotland's biggest group. Kids belong to one of five groups depending on age:
- Woodchips (Under 6's)
- Younger Elfins (6-7)
- Older Elfins (8-9)
- Pioneers (10-13)
- Venturers (14-18)
Who are the Woodcraft Folk?
They are an alternative youth organisation that enable girls and boys to have fun, make friends and think about the world.
What do they do?
Loads of things - games, singing, drama, crafts, dancing, camping, hostelling, cooking, outdoor activities, hiking and celebrating/questionning the world we live in!
