Kimley-Horn ranks among the world's 40 largest design firms and, from 2005-2008, has been named one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for." The company has implemented several Green Business measures to reduce its environmental impacts and concurrently save money. The company used its internal company website to reduce its waste stream and integrated its environmental policies its news orientation program.

Kimley-Horn became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2009. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
