A National Historic Landmark that was completed in 1713, the Powder Magazine, is the oldest public building in South Carolina. Owned and operated by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in The State of South Carolina. The building is one of the two surviving fortified structures of its kind in what were the Thirteen Original Colonies.
