Overview
History:
The Pousada is family owned and was established in 2000, thus operating for 12 years. Located only a ten minute walk away from the pier of arrival, the hotel takes advantage of its surrounding green landscape to help guests relax in a serene environment and enjoy the paradise that is Ihla Grande.
Sustainable Features:
The Pousada separates all of its garbage daily for recycling. Laundry is done onsite and also incorporates fresh rainwater. Guests are also encouraged to reuse towels to further reduce the need to do laundry and use of water when doing laundry. Ceiling fans are used instead of air conditioners to limit the use of electricity. Dishes are also washed by hand to further lessen the use of electricity that would otherwise be used with an electric dishwasher. All employees are hired locally and are from the island.
